Pets

When I went in to the hospital the last time and my blood pressure was so high, Justin said I needed a cat to purr and bring my blood pressure down. I told him what I really needed was another pomeranian dog like I had years ago. And so, the hunt begun. At first a little slow and then this last week when I went back to work, the hunt sped up. A friend at work called and told me about one at a local shelter. The little bugger was a beauty. Doesn't she look sweet to you? But they wouldn't let her go to a family with kids, even though my kids had been raised around animals. SO, the search was on in earnest.

This morning, I headed to work with contact information and photos of eight small, adult pomeranians. Four immediately got crossed off because they were in a different time zone (Florida) and I couldn't contact them until 11:00 our time. One was crossed out because it was from Alabama and they require pre-placement and post-placement home visits. I told my friend from Texas that it sure sounded like when we were told to scrub our refrigerators with old tooth brushes before the social workers came to visit when doing our adoption home studies! Another was in Atlanta and I left a message but haven't gotten a return call. Another had already been taken and the last one, we are supposed to pick up tomorrow morning. His name is Peanut, he's four years old and weighs six pounds. He gets along well with other dogs and cats, loves kids and is a good dog. Well, we will just have to see how he takes to all of us tomorrow. I know if I met all of us, I might run and hide at first!

I tried to call DH and tell him I'd pick him up for lunch but naturally his shop is too noisy to hear a phone so I parked and waited. I had the camera ready but before he comes out the door, he calls me and asks where I am at. Waiting on you! He comes out the double door and there's two cars and a golf cart between us. I have to wait until he gets across the street and by then, he knows I'm going to take his picture. I wanted to take his picture with him knowing I was there but not knowing I was going to take his picture. Oh, well, here is DH, glad that I am meeting him for lunch at the cafeteria. Fish today. Not that good, considering there's no slaw to go with it and the tartar sauce is more like slaw than tartar sauce but taste somewhere in between.
Later, when I get my layout done. I think I am up to date with my pictures now...............if not, I will get them later.
